Poet, playwright, and hispanist, Pável Grushkó is one of the most recognized translators of Hispanic literature, both poetry and prose, into the Russian Language. Among others, he has translated texts by Luis de Góngora, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Antonio Machado, Federico García Lorca, Miguel Hernández, José Martí, Leopoldo Lugones, Octavio Paz, Nicolás Guillén, José Lezama Lima o Pablo Neruda. As a playwright, he is the author of “Estrella y muerte de Joaquín Murieta,” based on “Fulgor y muerte de Joaquín Murieta,” by Pablo Neruda. Daniel Aguirre Oteiza is Assistant Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University, where he focuses his research on Modern Spanish Peninsular Literature; Modern Peninsular and Latin American Poetry; Spanish Civil War, Exile, Historical Memory, and Testimony; and Literary Translation. He has translated works by A.R. Ammons, John Ashbery, Samuel Beckett, Shel Silverstein, Wallace Stevens, and W. B. Yeats, among others. Connected by their work as translators, Grushkó and Aguirre Oteiza will discuss the challenges they face when translating literary texts.

Entre otros, ha traducido textos de Luis de Góngora, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Antonio Machado, Federico García Lorca, Miguel Hernández, José Martí, Leopoldo Lugones, Octavio Paz, Nicolás Guillén, José Lezama Lima o Pablo Neruda. Entre sus obras teatrales se encuentra «Estrella y muerte de Joaquín Murieta», basada en «Fulgor y muerte de Joaquín Murieta», de Pablo Neruda. Daniel Aguirre Oteiza es profesor del Departamento de Romance Languages and Literatures de la Universidad de Harvard, donde concentra su investigación en la literatura española moderna, la poesía española y latinoamericana moderna, la Guerra civil española, el exilio, la memoria histórica y la traducción literaria. Ha traducido obras de A.R. Ammons, John Ashbery, Samuel Beckett, Shel Silverstein, Wallace Stevens y W.B. Yeats, entre otros autores. Conectados por su trabajo como traductores, ambos discutirán los retos a los que se enfrentan en la traducción de textos literarios.
